The Cochrane and District Agricultural Societies (CDAS)’s prime objectives are to encourage improvement in agriculture and in the quality of life of persons living in the urban and rural communities served by our Society - by developing programs, services and facilities.
We are located in the historic town of Cochrane, approximately 20 minutes northwest of Calgary nestled in the Rocky Mountain foothills. Cochrane has a proud century-long heritage of equestrian activities and ranching where the roots of the Society began and continue today.
The CDAS was chartered as an Agricultural Society in 1973 and moved to its current location on the quarter section located in the northwest corner of Hwy 22 and 1A in 1986. In 1988 a group of volunteers completed the initial development of our original outdoor/roping arena along with the north dressage and jumping rings. Since then numerous site enhancements and improvements have occurred through continued support of volunteers.
The agricultural grounds commands breathtaking mountain views combined with top equestrian facilities.
